New Database Trial:


Pierce Library is considering subscription to JSTOR Global Plants. It's a community-contributed database that features more than two million high resolution plant type specimen images and other foundational materials from the collections of hundreds of herbaria around the world. 

Trial access through June 30, 2013.

Say What? Anagrams, Science & the Renaissance

Anagrams... were particularly important in early modern science, when new astronomical theories, mathematical formulas and inventions could be hidden in anagrams and revealed when the creator felt so inclined. This talk wil offer a brief history of anagrams and their use by scientists, physicians, kings and satirists. Learn more

Summit upgrade May 1

Update: the upgrade is completed and the Summit catalog is back to normal. Thanks again for your patience.

The system that handles requests for the Summit catalog is getting an upgrade on May 1. You won't notice any changes, but no Summit requests can be placed during the upgrade, which will start Tuesday, April 30 at 11 p.m. and may last until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1. Place your Summit requests before then if you can. If you want to request something during the upgrade, you can use the Interlibrary Loan request form or contact the Interlibrary Loan office. Thank you for your patience.

Hear visiting poet and student of the Eastern sword Joshua McKinney read from his new collection “Mad Cursive,” in the Pierce Library Reading Room at EOU.
